Description

The 2016 edition of the Sprinter Campus Fun Run (yes, you can also walk) will take place on homecoming Saturday, October 1. Last year, over 290 Sprinters ran in the 5th annual "race". The 1-mile course begins at the Sprinter statue just off the Cross Lot between the gymnasium and the Chapel of the Christ. Grab some friends, get some exercise, and enjoy a refreshing start to a full, fall day of fun.

Usain GumpPre-registration is now open! There is no cost to participate, but only pre-registered participants are eligible for one of the many great door prizes from campus entitities and community businesses including Cash Wise, Green Mill, Holiday, HyVee, Lamplighter, McDonalds, George's, Perkins, Concordia Lanes, and Subway.

T-shirts are again available for purchase for those who pre-register by Sept 18. This year's shirt will be stylishly orange and will feature the Sprinter and his fellow racers sprinting past the Music Hall. Adult cost is $8. Those 18 and under pay just $6 (even if they wear adult sizes). Speaking of style, why not add some fun to the run and sport your finest pair of crazy socks?

2016 T-Shirt DesignAll participants should plan to arrive between 8:30 and 8:45 to sign in at the Luther Student Center near the gym. Door prizes will be drawn at 8:50 sharp (must be pre-registered by Sept 29, be present, and signed in to win). Upon completion of the race, stick around for free bottled water and snacks. MLC cross country, volleyball, soccer, and football teams will be in action that day and a host of other events are scheduled for the weekend. See the MLC website for the full slate of activities.

The course is paved, flat (no steps or hills), and family friendly (strollers & wagons welcome). The map below shows the exact route and we'll run it rain or shine. If you haven't seen the beautiful campus in a while, this is the opportune time to check it out!
